Greetings, Jazz Fans! Ace Gillett’s Music Director John Olson here to let you know what we have cued up for this week.
Swing Dancing w/ Andrew Vogt & The Subterraneans
Thursday, 2/27 – 7:00 to 11:00 pm
Do any of you longtime regulars remember the “No Swing Dancing” sign? Not only has that sign been retired, but now we’re inviting and encouraging you to come out and dance in our new space. On Thursday night, we’ll be featuring Andrew Vogt, as he leads Bob Montgomery, Jo Asker and myself through a night of danceable Vintage favorites. We’ll have plenty of space on the Dance Floor in our newly renovated “Library,” where all of our Live Jazz is being featured going forward.
Kenyon Brenner
Friday, 2/28– 8:00 to Midnight
The Subterraneans welcome back Kenyon Brenner on tenor saxophone, joined by Jack Roben on guitar, Bill McCrossen on bass and myself on drums. Kenyon is part of the Jazz Faculty at UNC and has been a regular performer at Ace Gillett’s since we opened in 2010. We’ll kick off the evening with Shaun Nolan at the turntables, playing selections from our classic vinyl library, starting at 5:00 pm.
Jeff Jenkins
Saturday, 2/29 – 8:00 to Midnight
We’ll be featuring Jeff Jenkins on piano, accompanied by Bill McCrossen on bass and myself on drums. Shaun Nolan will again be setting the mood, spinning Vinyl from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.
Celebration Of Life for Oreo Armstrong – Proceeds Benefit Larimer County Humane Society
Sunday, 3/1 – 5:00 – 11:00 pm
Please join us as we say goodbye and honor our beloved Hotel Cat-Ambassador “Oreo,” who crossed the Rainbow Bridge this week after faithfully greeting Hotel guests for 16 years. Proceeds from the entire night will be donated to the Larimer County Humane Society where she was adopted nearly 16 years ago. Shaun Nolan will be behind the turntables, spinning tunes as we raise a glass in honor of Oreo – she’s already missed!

Monday and Tuesday, 3/2 and 3/3 – 6:00 to 11:00 pm
Our resident DJ Shaun Nolan will be spinning your Vinyl favorites on the freshly-renovated bar side of Ace Gillett’s. Be sure to browse our vintage vinyl collection – maybe you’ll find that musical gem that you haven’t heard in years?
