Wednesday, 01/02 – 7:30 to 11:00

Tonight we feature the lovely and talented Jenna McLean on vocals, accompanied by Colorado jazz great Eric Gunnison on piano. Eric played with the legendary vocalist Carmen McRae, so we know that he’s good with singers! You don’t want to miss what is sure to be an incredible night of jazz standards and ballads.

Gabriel Mervine Trumpet

The Subterraneans & Gabriel Mervine

Thursday, 01/03 – 8:00 to Midnight

The Subterraneans welcome Gabriel Mervine on trumpet and flugelhorn, accompanied by Tom Amend on piano, Seth Lewis on bass and myself on drums.Gabriel is a mainstay on the Denver Jazz Scene, and toured the country for many years as a member of the Motet. Thursday nights with this group are somewhat of a “well-kept secret,” and if you have an opportunity to come out, you’ll see why we try to have Gabriel as often as his busy schedule allows.

Sopon Suwannakit

The Subterraneans & Sopon Suwannakit

Friday, 01/04– 8:00 to Midnight

The Subterraneans welcome Sopon Suwannakit in a Trio setting with Seth Lewis and John Olson. Sopon, a native of Thailand, is continuing his education in jazz studies at the University of Northern Colorado. He has a unique and musically agile style at the keyboard and it’s always a fun night when he joins us.

Ben Markley Trio

Saturday, 01/05 – 8:00 to Midnight

The Ben Markley Trio is back for their Saturday slot, featuring Seth Lewis and John Olson. Ben is in high demand these days with a busy calendar so we’re excited to have him back for the night. If you know Ben, we’re sure to play some Cedar Walton classics!

Mark Sloniker

Mark Sloniker

Sunday, 01/06 – 7:00 to 11:00

Mark Sloniker is back for his Sunday set. Hopefully you had a chance to hear him with his son Myles while he was back in town for the Holidays. Sundays are always a fun mix of Mark playing solo piano for the first set, while being joined throughout the evening by friends and family on vocals and other solo instruments.

Thanks to all of you that joined us for our New Year’s Eve Soiree! Cristine, Devan, Adam, Ed and Paul (The High Five Band) were outstanding and kept the dance floor packed all night. It was great party and I’m glad you were there!

As always, Thank You for supporting live jazz at Ace Gillett’s – I hope to see you there soon!
